The In View Series, on the Cruise Ship Industry

The cruise ship industry continues to take hits as yet another cruise ship makes news for the wrong reason. The Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas made the news as a fire broke out aboard the Baltimore-based ship en route to the Bahamas. No injuries or deaths resulted from the incident. This latest story follows a string of negative news stories about Carnival Cruise Lines. The international cruise ship industry has taken numerous hits in the last couple of years. The memory of the tragic Costa Concordia incident still remains fresh in many people’s minds. The incident, in January of last year, left 32 passengers and crew members dead after the ship’s captain brought the ship in too close to the shore and struck underwater rocks.

However, the industry, which provides luxurious and enjoyable vacations for tens of thousands of people around the world each year, has taken definitive steps to improve safety and the experiences of its customers. In a coming series, the In View series will show viewers across the United States some of the steps that the cruise ship industry has taken to supply its customers with memorable and enjoyable vacations and enhance safety for both staff and travelers aboard its ships.

In View hosted by Larry King looks at interesting stories across society, across the United States and Canada and around the world.
